Meeting minutes

In this hui, we introduced Poutoko Hauora and the vision behind its establishment to new members. We discussed the areas we should be proactive in and received an update from a member of Te Rōpū Whakakaupapa Urutā on the current state of COVID for māori.

In this hui, we invited Mara Andrews to speak about the developments in the locality planning space. Mara put out a tono for a range of areas currently in need of Māori kaimahi hauora. Pātai, posed by Mara, aptly summarises the theme of this hui: “If you had the opportunity how would you transform things? What will you do differently?”

In this hui, we gave new members an overview of Poutoko Hauora, more details about the Poutoko hauora business case as well as on the invitation extended by the Māori Health Authority.

In this hui, we introduced the tono put forward for mauri ora associates and the GEN2040 expert advisory group; we also opened the floor to hear from the rōpū what areas we should be more proactive in kaimahi Hauora Māori.

This hui marks the first for Poutoko Hauora in the new year. The focus here was the launch of the Poutoko Hauora Website, creating a forum for Mental Health and Addictions, discussing developments on the NZ health and MHA arrangement, and providing a brief overview of COVID and the OMICRON variant.
